This year our students represented Illinois Central College in Louisville, Kentucky as part of the 52nd annual SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference that was held from June 20-25, 2016. Five students were awarded National medals.

Several of ICC’s Faculty and Alumni have continued to assist at the National Conference. Eric Hill (Pekin) (former State and local officer) and current State Director for SkillsUSA Illinois. Michael Raydon (Chillicothe) (former local officer and national medalist) assisted with the National Education Team in the Computer Maintenance competition. Jonathan Worent (Peoria) (former national medalist) assisted with the National Education Team in the Web Design competition. Brandy Thatcher (Former local officer and national medalist) and Shari Tripp (Pekin) (ICC) assisted with judging for Web Design. Mark DuBois continued this year (as in the past several years) in the role of National Technical Chair for the Web Design competition. Nick Hulva (East Peoria) (former State and local officer and national medalist) served on the Quiz Bowl National Education Team. Nick has also served this past year at the State level serving on the Board of Directors. Colin Van Orman (Forest City) (former state medalist and national competitor) has joined us this year as a new faculty member and faculty advisor. Kevin Wells (East Peoria) (former local officer and student medalist in Internetworking) continues to serve as the Faculty and Chapter co-advisor for SkillsUSA. Thank you all for representing Illinois Central College and the State of Illinois in such a remarkable way!!
Congratulations to the following faculty and staff for their tremendous efforts in preparing our students and for accompanying the students to Louisville in addition to those who assisted them virtually: Kim Hawthorne, Kevin Wells, Colin Van Orman, Brian Weaver, Mark DuBois, John Baggett, Jeff Gardner, Mike Daugherty, Shane Seals, Eric McCann, and Alyson Smith.
